What a week at Artscape Gibraltar Point! Hard to put into words how impactful the inaugural Women’s Island Residency was for me. The shared experience with 12 other women artists: navigating a carless community, making and sharing communal meals each night, creating and sharing our work with each other… It was a week full of memories I won’t soon forget! All the conversations, feedback, and advice from other artists with different life experience and training than me was invaluable. I have no doubt this experience will propel me forward in a positive way. Grateful for the connections made, and especially to artist and educator April Hickox, who organized this event and made it all possible.
